CODE OF CONDUCT

Please read the following rules carefully. They are there to ensure you train in a safe, clean and enjoyable environment. If you are unsure about any of the rules please ask a member of staff.

General Safety

• All customers must abide by the rules and behave respectfully toward staff and fellow club members.
• Participants must sign in at reception on each visit prior to entering the Parkour space.
• No spectators are permitted in the training areas or corridors. Access to toilet only.
• Participants who arrive early are requested to wait patiently behind the railing at the edge of the Parkour zone.
• Watches and jewellery must be removed prior to taking part in any activities.
• Personal belongings and drinks should be kept in the pigeon holes at the edge of the Parkour zone.
• Please park shoes considerately and don’t leave them where they might obstruct a doorway, fire exit or create a trip hazard.
• Participants must not begin training or climb on any obstacles before their session has begun and a warm up has been completed.
• Never create distractions or cause other participants to become distracted whilst they are training. This is a serious safety consideration and must be adhered to at all times.
• Be aware of your surroundings and “look before you leap!”. Be mindful when crossing the Parkour zone or sprung floor to make sure you don’t walk or run into the path of someone who is mid-air or about to jump.
• Consider that other participants may be moving in all directions including opposite to the way they are facing or from above your line of sight.

Parkour Zone (Black matted area)

• Suitable footwear should be worn whilst training on the Parkour Zone obstacles. – No crocs/flip-flops/wellies please!
• Always check surfaces for grip and that obstacles and rails are secure. Report any problems to a member of staff
• Large or heavy obstacles in the Parkour Zone should only be moved or adjusted by coaches.
• Never stand directly in front or behind someone who is swinging on a bar.
• Any obstacles moved during an open session must put back precisely to how they were found so that they are ready for the next class
• Loose chalk is not permitted. Liquid chalk only.
• The squat rack and free weights are for staff use only.

Sprung Floor (Grey carpeted area)

• No food or drink is permitted on or near the sprung floor. Water in a resealable container may be consumed in the Parkour Zone
• Chewing gum is not permitted anywhere in the gym.
• Always quickly step off and away from any landing mats/areas so that the next person waiting may take their turn.
• Participants should be barefoot whilst training on the Sprung Floor, however trampoline grip socks are permitted.
• The red/black foam vaulting blocks on the Sprung Floor must be used as they are and not split up or re-joined to create different sizes.
• During open sessions, participants may move around and re-position obstacles on the sprung floor.
• Heavy obstacles should be carefully carried between two (or more) people where possible, rather than being pushed or dragged.

Street Motion Academy of Movement operates a three strikes policy for bad or inappropriate behaviour:
We reserve the right to temporarily or permanently exclude anyone who’s conduct falls below reasonable standards.

1. Any participants failing to meet behaviour standards will receive a verbal warning.

2. If the behaviour continues a written warning will be issued to the participant and where applicable, their parents.

3. If the written warning has no effect the participant will be suspended or expelled from the club at the discretion of the management.
